World Health Day 2022: Our planet, our health

"Are we able to reimagine a world where clean air, water and food are available to all?
Where economies are focused on health and well-being?
Where cities are liveable and people have control over their health and the health of the planet?"

Spreading awareness of the importance of health and access to healthcare and wellbeing activities provides an opportunity to shine a light on important public health issues affecting people all over the world. With the COVID-19 pandemic still affecting the lives and health of many people all around the world, it is important to focus on the urgency of creating sustainable well-being societies which allow the access to equitable health for all without breaching ecological limits.

At Sleep.8 We believe that good sleep is the foundation of happy, healthy living, and our dream is that everybody can get their best sleep, every night.
Our team of experts has developed an extensive range of innovative products and specialised services, designed to improve sleep quality.

Sustainability in our production and several other processes is one of our focus and contribution to lower energy consumption, reduction of waste and optimising the material used.

In embracing the theme of World Health Day 2022, those of us who are more fortunate can call on our leaders, urging them to ensure all people have access to adequate resources and healthcare, regardless of the conditions into which they are born, or in which they live or work.

Getting adequate, good quality sleep every night is a critical component to health, allowing the body and mind to rest and recover. The stress and disruption that COVID-19 has brought to many of our lives means that even more people are suffering from irregular or interrupted sleep or insomnia. Thankfully, there are a number of ways to improve sleep, even during a pandemic.

Here are the most important aspects to take into account:
  1. Set a regular bedtime and wake time. This allows your circadian rhythm to adjust to a regular sleep schedule, helping your natural cycles of energy and sleepiness.
  2. Create a bedtime routine and put your mobile phone away and other mobile devices 1 hour before bedtime
  3. Include a morning walk every morning to include exercise and natural light exposure when you start your day
  4. Avoid Caffeine and spicy foods late on the day
  5. Make your bed cosy and comfy
  6. Block out distractions
  7. Bet on relaxation at the end of the day
